Instagram Share To Facebook Doesn't Work
We all want to have an easy life. Instagram, which is now owned by Facebook, is also trying to make our social life easier by introducing helpful features. Recently, they added a feature with the help of which you can cross-post your Instagram stories to Facebook.
They have had a similar feature for posts too for a long time now. If you link your Facebook and Instagram accounts, you could directly share posts from Instagram to FB. There is no need to upload the media separately to each account.
However, many times, even if you press the Share button on the Instagram app, the post isn't published on Facebook. Although you get a notification that the post was shared successfully, it is not visible on the Facebook timeline.
Note: Sharing multiple photos and videos isn't possible currently.
Is Instagram share to Facebook not working for you too? In this post, we will walk you through some solutions that will fix the Instagram not posting to Facebook issue.
1. Link Your Facebook Account Properly
To share your Instagram posts directly from the app to Facebook, it's mandatory to link the two. Unless you properly link the two accounts, Instagram won't share to Facebook.
To do so, follow these steps:
Step 1: Open the Instagram app on your phone and go to the profile section. Tap on the three-bar icon in the top-right corner. Select Settings.
Step 2: Tap on Accounts followed by Linked Accounts. You will find multiple social networks listed here. Tap on Facebook. Grant it the necessary permissions.
Once you have done that, make sure Facebook label turns blue. This indicates that your Facebook profile is linked to your Instagram account.
Instagram links to your personal Facebook profile by default. In case, you want to cross-post Instagram posts to your Facebook page, tap on Facebook again and choose your page in the above setting.
In case of multiple pages, to select a page, where you want to automatically post your Insta posts, tap the Edit Profile option. Then under Edit Profile, tap Facebook Page and select your page.

2. Log Out of Both The Apps
Sometimes a simple solution such as logging out will fix Facebook and Instagram issues. Since it is essential to link the Facebook and Instagram account, we are basically doing a universal reset by logging out.
Once you have logged out from both the apps, you have to log in again and follow the steps mentioned in solution 1. By the way, check these five cool Facebook features that you probably didn't know.
To log out from Instagram, follow these steps:

3. Change Your Facebook Password
Another solution that you can try to fix this issue is to change your Facebook password. This will basically log you out from all the sessions. And in case, a problem existed due to a wrong session, doing this will allow you to cross-post Instagram posts to Facebook again.
To change the Facebook password, follow these steps:
Step 1: Open the Facebook app on your phone and tap the three-bar menu. Scroll down and tap on Settings under Settings & Privacy.
Step 2: Then tap Security and Login. Tap on the Change password option and change your password.
Once you change the password, you will be logged out from all the linked Facebook apps. Log in to the Facebook app using the new password and then link Instagram and Facebook as mentioned in solution 1.
4. Unlink Facebook
Many times, when we reset our Facebook password, Instagram doesn't log you out from the Facebook account. It will behave as if you have the right password and thanks to this, your Instagram posts will stop sharing to Facebook.
Hence, to fix this, you have to unlink Facebook from Instagram and then link the two accounts back again.
To unlink Facebook from Instagram, tap on the three-bar icon at the top-right corner in the profile section of Instagram. Then, go to Settings > Accounts > Linked Accounts followed by Facebook. Under Facebook, tap Unlink. After doing that, restart your phone and link them again as mentioned above.
5. Delete Instagram From Facebook Apps
You could also try removing Instagram from the linked apps on Facebook. However, by doing so, all your previous Instagram posts will also be removed from Facebook. In case you want to try this solution, here are the steps:
Step 1: Open the Facebook website on your PC and tap the small down arrow in the top bar. Choose Settings from the menu.
Step 2: From the left sidebar, choose Apps and websites. Select Instagram from the list of the apps. Then click on Remove. This will revoke access to Instagram.
Like the other solutions, you will have to link Facebook again to your Instagram account. The steps are given in solution 1.
